Grandmother: Jets aren't being fair to holdout Darrelle Revis Jersey

The grandmother of New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis jersey said the team has put the holdout in an unfair position as he sits through his fifth straight week away from the team.
In comments to ESPN, Aileen Gilbert said she supports her grandson's decision to stay away from the team in pursuit of a new contract.
Said Gilbert:
"I know he wants to play, but Darrelle understands contract negotiations. Some players don't get it,NCAA Jerseys, but Darrelle can read a contract. I think he's comfortable with his decision (to hold out) because he knows what he was told by the Jets and he knows what he's worth.
"People are trying to portray him as greedy, but he has outperformed his contract. For them to put him in this position is just unreal."
Darrelle Revis jersey was set to make $1 million this year, the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal. He wanted to become the highest-paid NFL cornerback, but the two sides couldn't work out a deal.
Talks grew publicly contentious in early August, with Jets owner Woody Johnson saying they were far apart and that he doubted Darrelle Revis jersey would sign by the Sept. 13 season opener. So the sides agreed to a media blackout as they continued to negotiate.
Gilbert told ESPN the contract dispute for Darrelle Revis jersey is "almost like a slap in the face, because he's not appreciated."
ESPN sent reporter Rich Cimini to Darrelle Revis jersey' hometown of Aliquippa, Pa. He spoke to Gilbert, whose son, Sean, sat out a full season in a contract dispute, on her porch.
Gilbert told ESPN that his uncle is a strong influence on Darrelle Revis jersey, and didn't rule out the possibility that the cornerback could sit out the entire season.
"If he does," Gilbert told ESPN, "it won't be because of Sean. It'll be because the Jets don't give him a decent contract."
