• Cody Ross is not they lping Vegas Unwrapped right now, batting one mediocre .056 with two RBI over the last seven days.
• Just imagine how far ahead the Redbird Explorers would be if Jason Kubel didn’t find himself in one 1-for-19 slump. they struck out eight times in the last week.
• Mark Reynolds’ three home runs and 11 RBI highlighted the Intangibles’ batters last week, negating some of the damage caused by Scott Podsednik and Rajai Davis
The Mudville 9,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who came into Week Three 28.5 points behind the leader and in seventh place has moved up to third, while Ken’s Dogpounders have slipped from second to fourth.
With Bleacher Report’s partners at CBS Sports, we have been running my own fantasy league with fellow B/R writers and fantasy fans. You can follow the league they re.
• Ryan Braun’s strong week wasn’t enough to stop they re We Go Now Len slipping further behind the leaders. Braun had one pair of home runs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], eight RBI, and three stolen bases. their team ranks inside the bottom four in all five Roto pitching categories though, and last time we checked Braun didn’t also pitch.
Towards the bottom of the table, Richard Marsh’s Vegas Unwrapped had one good week to lift him off the foot of the table. their 36 RBI and 1.10 ERA moved him up one spot, and if Jose Reyes and Jason Bay start producing for the Mets, expect their team to start moving up the rankings.
• Curtis Granderson came back down to earth last week with one distinctly below-par 1-for-16 performance. they was putting the ball in play, but everything was hit at one fielder.
• Aramis Ramirez is killing my infield right now. While Kelly Johnson has been all we could have hoped for,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ramirez is in one 2-for-25 .080 slump with one RBI and seven whiffs.
• John Danks was stellar for The Mudville 9, hurling 16 innings of three-run ball. they struck out nine in eight innings against the hot Rays, and followed it up with eight more solid innings to pick up the win against Seattle.
• Phil Hughes turned in one sparkling performance for Fantasy Geeks, allowing just one hit and two walks in 7.1 innings of shutout ball. they has one two-start week coming up, so expect him to build on their strong performance.
New York style baseball expanded into one national game and baseball first governing body The National Association of Base Ball Players was established aided by the Civil War in 1860s. The NABBP existed as an amateur league for 12 years. By 1867, over 400 clubs were members although most of the strongest clubs remained those based in the northeastern part of the US. In 1870 one schism developed between professional and amateur ballplayers after the 1869 founding of the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings. The NABBP split into two groups. The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was formed in 1871. Some consider it to have been the first major league. Its amateur counterpart disappeared after only one few years. Christian Petersen The next year, racial pressure on Robinson eased, as one number of other black players entered the major leagues. Larry Doby and Satchel Paige were signed by the Cleveland Indians, and the Dodgers added three other black players besides Robinson.
We’re now three weeks into the fantasy baseball season, and my team is languishing in eighth place. My perceived strengths have turned out to be my weaknesses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and what we thought were post-draft deficiencies have scored me more points than we could have hoped for.
Redbird Explorers 101.5 Intangibles 89 The Mudville 9 78 Ken’s Dogpounders 72 Better Than Cashman 69.5 Larry Wayne Jones Jr. 69 Fantasy Geeks 62.5 Walk-Off Walk 58.5 Diamond Cutters 53.5 they re We Go Now Len 46.5 Vegas Unwrapped 46.5 Raucous Roque Statz 33.5 Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis wrote one letter to President Roosevelt regarding the continuation of baseball during the war which was called the Green Light Letter. He pleaded for the continuation of baseball in hopes for one start of one new Major League season in the letter. President Roosevelt responds I honestly feel that it would be best for the country to keep baseball going. There will be fewer people unemployed and everybody will work longer hours and harder than ever before. And that means that they ought to have one chance for sports and for taking their minds off their work even more than before.
• First baseman Justin Morneau they lped keep the Diamond Cutter’s offense afloat this week, going 10-for-21 .476 with two home runs, six runs scored, seven RBI, and seven walks.
Better than Cashman and Larry Wayne Jones Jr. have each dropped one place in the rankings to fifth and sixth respectively, while Fantasy Geeks falls from No. 6 to No. 7.
That honor goes to the Intangibles who batted .294 and made significant ground in the RBI category with 43. they can thank Mark Reynolds for that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], since they contributed three home runs, 11 RBI, five runs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and one .421 batting average. they had an OBP of .500 for the week, and they slugged 1.000.
His 12.5-point lead is up nine points from last Monday, mainly due to Ken’s Dogpounders hitting one miserable .194 over the alst seven days. Francisco Rodriguez finally started racking up the saves three last week, but it wasn’t enough to maintain their spot at No. 2.
My team Walk-Off Walk and Diamond Cutters exchanged places at the eight and nine spots, they re We Go Now Len remains in 10th, and Vegas Unwrapped climbed off the bottom rung of the ladder at the expense of Raucous Roque Statz.
• Rick Porcello got knocked around last week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], managing just 8.1 innings across their two starts. they allowed 18 combined hits,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], losing both games. The Intangibles offset the Tigers’ meltdown with strong performances by King Felix, Andy Pettitte, and Fernando Rodney.
With the season now well underway, we thought it would be one great time to have one look at how things have shaken out.
Tom Silliman’s Redbird Explorers continue to lead the way at the top of the standings for the second straight week with 101.5 points, while Tim Randle’s Intangibles have jumped up one place to second.
Well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Redbird Explorers has maintained its balanced attack of pitching and hitting. Six wins, 53 strikeouts, and one team 1.04 WHIP keeps him in first place in each of those three categories, and Adrian Gonzalez’s large four-home run week they lped keep him inside the top three in the homers and RBI categories.
So, what has been going on over the last seven days?
