Children are amazing. They have amazing capabilities. They love as though life depends on it, they laugh like no one is [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]ing, they are mischievous, and affectionate all rolled into a bundle of joy. They can turn our worlds upside down, but we, in turn,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], can turn their worlds upside down,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and not always for the better. Unfortunately, they do not come with an instruction manual and so we are going to do wrong things as parents. This is normal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but we need to spend overtime building self esteem in children.
Children are just little human beings and should be treated as such. Human beings are not perfect. We have a variety of faults. We mess up. As adults, we can cover up the mess ups,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but children only feel the weight of doing something wrong. They do not perceive things like we do and we have the power to crush them or build them up. Building self esteem in children requires adults to admit they are wrong too. When a child spills milk,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what is your reaction? Our reactions can dictate how a child feels about himself. Do you make him feel like spilled milk is the end of the world? Or do you turn it into a life lesson?
Also, children are not going to keep the house as clean as you do or stack the dishes up just right. They are not adults, do not treat them as such. It is important to keep them teachable because not only are you building self esteem in children, but you are also training them to one day live on their own. Do not set your expectations too high because your children will feel the weight of failure and this weight can crush them.
You must remember who you are to your child. Parent, teacher, disciplinarian, role model, example, and so much more. What you think of them is priceless in their eyes and all they want is for you to love them. They want you to think the world revolves around them. Not because they want to be spoiled, but,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because, their world revolves around you. As it revolves, you are building self esteem in children or dismantling it. Provide them with shoes they can fill for the rest of their lives.
