Elizabeth Taylor put on a brave face up until the end of her life. But privately, the Hollywood legend, who fought tirelessly for those suffering from AIDS, was struggling with her own health woes.
Debbie Reynolds — a friend of La Liz despite their notorious long-ago love triangle with Eddie Fisher — recalled her last conversation with the actress, two weeks before her death.
“I said, ‘Getting old is really [expletive],’” the screen star said on “Access Hollywood.” “And she said, ‘It certainly is. It certainly is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Debbie. This is really tough.’
“I said, ‘Well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you just hang in there now, Elizabeth. And she said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ‘I’m really trying.’”
Liz’s former romantic rival added, “God bless her,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she’s on to a better place. I’m happy that she’s out of her pain because she was in a lot of pain.”
We’re glad Elizabeth is not suffering anymore. But the world has surely lost a great talent and a great humanitarian.
