The second section of the book contains the actual recipes, recipes are taken from the food which is served in the restaurant its self. The recipes are presented in a some what eclectic format with some sections covering courses (Breakfast and Puddings) whilst on the whole the recipes are broken down into food groups such as meat, fish and vegetables. Whilst the cook book is by no means a vegetarian one the book has a higher than average number of vegetarian recipes and those which are not can often be adapted with relative ease.
Whats in the Leon Cook Book
Leon is a small restaurant chain within London [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], England selling a contemporary fusion of Spanish [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Mediterranean and North African flavours in what might be best described as street foods. The chain was started by Henry John and Allegra McEvedy back in 2004 starting with one restaurant in Carnaby Street which has now multiplied to the current eight restaurants across London. The success of the restaurants has lead to the publication of the chains official recipe book in 2008 titled Leon ingredients and recipes.
In addition to the two main sections the book also has an attractive appendix section [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], here the reader can find out a little more about the personal life and tales of those who have built the Leon chain up. In addition the appendix also has some interesting factual information such as a list of suppliers of various food types as well as further reading for those who are interested.
The Leon cook book is not simply another recipe book, the publication has two main sections. The first section gives a potted history of the business and outlines the principals of both the business and those involved in its conception and execution. The first section also gives a guide to the ingredients used in the restaurant and throughout the cook book. The ingredients section gives a general guide to the buying, storing and cooking of ingredients and is broken down thematically as one may expect.
