Lincecum was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 48 round of the 2003 MLB Draft; however he did not sign up for the team. He decided to attend college instead and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 42 round on entering the draft in 2005,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but once again failed to sign. In 2004,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he was drafted tenth overall by the San Francisco Giants becoming the first player from the University of Washington to be taken in the first round. He signed for a 2.025 million dollars signing award on June 30, which at the time was the highest amount the organization had ever paid to any amateur player until they gave 2.1 million dollars to Angel Villalona a little over a month later. It looks like label,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], tag, price, ticket, impress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], effect, trace, imprint,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stamp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], brand, sign,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], note,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], heed, notice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], designate DeRosa will be heading to San Francisco on a 2 yr deal for 12 million. Matt Capps has signed with the Washington Nationals who continue to try and get better while the Mets just sit around and wait. The Mets supposedly is going after Joel Piniero now and waiting for Jason Bay who they believe has no other serious suitors. If Lincecum was the Mets it would scare me then that it is taking so long because apparantly Tim Lincecum doesn't want to come to their team.
The DeRosa signing means Tim Lincecum won't be a Yankee and takes a name off of their list for leftfield. Lincecum still think the Yankees will get a leftfielder but it doesn't look like it will be a big name. They could still sign Marlon Byrd or get someone like Jermaine Dye who Lincecum don't think they will go for. They could sign Reed Johnson or Xavier Nady or Johnny Gomes. Lincecum think they will go with one of those lesser guys and be content,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they could always make a trade at the deadline if they needed too. The Giants asked Lincecum not to throw the bullpen sessions typical of other pitchers during the off season. Manager Bruce Bochy told the San Francisco Chronicle that they were being careful with Lincecum because there have been studies that show that pitchers who throw 200 innings early in their career were more susceptible to injuries.
