It’s not even a question for me right now on March 24. I’d put Julio Borbon there and then I’d roll with it because I don’t know why everybody is so worked out about this. I mean, Julio lost his job last year to David Murphy because he wasn’t getting it done in the second half of the season. Chris Davis lost his job; Jerrod Saltalamacchia lost his job; Taylor Teagarden lost his job; Franky Francisco lost his job.
This is not a ‘you just get by…we’re so desperate anybody can play’. The reason why they wanted Julio Borbon at center is not just because it’ll take some wear and tear off of Josh Hamilton. They think, potential-wise, Julio is a better player than David Murphy. Now, David Murphy is pretty much a finished product; he is a terrific player: the kind of player that every good team has. But, his top-of-the-line…his end does not match Julio Borbon’s top end finished product, if that makes sense. And I think that’s what the Rangers are betting on,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so I’d start him at center. I wouldn’t even think about. I’d give him six weeks; if he hadn’t pulled his head out of his posterior,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then I’d make a move.
