Don"t you just hate it when you have spent hours traipsing around town and all you have to show for it is a stick of deodorant and a magazine?

Wouldn"t be so frustrating, but the whole point to your trip was you had a list of presents to get.
We have all been there. We set our alarms so we get up early. Excitedly we get ready. But then you have to take into consideration the fact that it is going to be warm inside the shops. Or if is a warm outside, but rain is forecast, do you take the brolly, more importantly can you be bothered to carry the brolly? Ok, what was the point of getting up early, because now it has taken you so long to decide, you are now behind schedule. Now you are annoyed.
Car parks, such wonderful places to drive around. The endless fun you can have. Spot the free space. Try and squeeze into a space. (Thanks to some idiot who is oblivious to the concept of parking space lines). Then there is the gamble, two pay stations to choose from,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you feel like John Wayne stood in between the two. Every time you pick the one that is out of order, or worse still, it has a battle of the wills with you, will it accept your coins or not, of course not silly, that little person inside it saw you coming a mile off! So you just stand there putting the same coin in repeatedly, cursing it. Annoyance just moved up to aggravated.

You can breathe again as the shops glisten before you. Out comes the list,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], like Excalibur out of the stone! First gift to get, off you excitedly go, you have been looking forward to this all week. You know exactly where to go, you have terminator vision. You reach out to the shelf, empty, oh dear, to make things worse, the delightful chirpy assistant assures you there ARE no more. Ok, don"t panic, never mind these things happen. Next shop.
You hear those immortal words"? again.. "Sorry we"re out of stock"? It can only happen to you. You have got to be kidding; you collar another assistant, just to make sure. Well they are not so chirpy after you expressed your displeasure at their lack of stock.
Suffice to say, you follow a pattern. That list that was once so treasured has transcended into a repellent to the ability to purchase any of the gifts lovingly scribed on it. You wistfully put it in the next rubbish bin you come across. Totally deflated, you accept defeat and wind your way home.
So remember. The moral of this tale, NEVER put what the actual present is on a list, just put the name of who it is you wish to buy for, because once you put that pen to paper you know you are never going to be able to find it, let alone purchase it. That is the curse of gift buying! See, you learn something new everyday!
