According to the St. Petersburg Times, Plaxico Burress has contacted a few Buccaneers players, including former Giants teammate Derrick Ward, and expressed a desire to play for the Bucs.
Here’s a story that will throw into question absolutely nothing you know about human nature. Plaxico Burress, an unemployed football player who could be facing jail time for discharging a loaded handgun in a New York nightclub, would rather make millions of dollars running around and catching footballs in sunny Tampa, Fla.
In other Plaxico news, former Giants teammate and current ESPN personality Tim Hasselbeck has some advice for teams thinking about hopping on the Plaxico wagon. From the New York Post:
It looks like he’d like that team to be the Buccaneers. My guess is, though, that he’ll settle for any team that will have him, because playing football is fun, while sitting around and thinking about Riker’s Island body cavity searches is not.
