aid Desire in reprogramming your subconscious mind and thus changing your habits and behaviors (this is the "help" I mentioned above).
2) A PLAN.
First, DESIRE. I'll start by defining it. Desire is when you want something in your life more than you want anything else in your life,Air Max 2011 Running, and you're willing to do whatever it takes to have it,Shox R4 Sneakers, at the expense of anything else in your life which might distract you from your objective. That's true Desire anyway. People want a lot of things, but if you're not willing to sacrifice something for it, that's not real Desire, that's wishful thinking. That includes sleep, time at the office, or playing golf with your buddies.
Now with respect to Goals, it's important to realize that there are two types: 1) Outcome Goals and 2) Process Goals (and you need both).
Let me share with you the two attributes, that when possessed, determine more than anything else, how fast you will move forward when trying to burn fat, gain muscle, or achieve any other fitness goal (or life goal for that matter):
Of course if I'd have just said "Goals" to start with, you would probably would have rolled your eyes and stopped reading. Everyone talks about Goals these days, and people's eyes tend to glaze over at the mere mention of the word.
Process Goals are the specific actionable tasks and behaviors you can DO to achieve your Outcome Goals. To form an ideal Plan, you take your Outcome Goal and break it down into sub-goals. If these sub-goals aren't specific tasks and behaviors you can a) complete, and b) assign a deadline to, then you need to keep planning until you at last arrive at true Process Goals. Then you can stop planning and get to work.
Outcome Goals represent the end state of being you want to realize (more energy, less fat, more muscle, etc.) or the object you want to have (new car, bigger house, bigger paycheck, and the like). Outcome Goals are what you should write at the very top of your Plan for achieving them.
Let's talk more about each of those in turn:
OK. I could go on a bit in more detail about the nuances of Desire and having a Plan, but I think your time will be better spe
1) DESIRE.
Desire is so important, because when you really want something badly, be it a material object, a state of being (such as better health), or a certain relationship, your subconscious mind will do two critical things on your behalf:
let you know when you can stop your current pursuit in favor of something else, or alternatively, let you know you set your standards too low so that you can form a new Goal and get out of life what you really want, so you don't settle for anything less.
Without Goals you're like someone who Desires the experience of flight, but who doesn't know whether they'd like that experience via hand glider, human cannonball, or by jumping off a tall building.
That's unfortunate. A Goal that is both specific and deadline oriented, which gets reviewed daily, is absolutely critical if you ever want to achieve anything of value in life, and that goes for getting more fit.
Your subconscious will cause you to become aware of opportunities whereby you might more easily achieve your objective--that before the influx of Desire--would have remained completely invisible to you. Some would even argue that your subconscious will "attract" these opportunities to you. I'll let you be the judge on that.
More on these two in a minute,Shox NZ, for now, let's talk about your PLAN. I say "PLAN," but what I really mean is a series of hierarchically arranged GOALS, organized by time and level of detail.
A Goal will:
Over time (and with some help which I'll talk about shortly) it will change your habits from unproductive time wasters, to automatic behaviors that move you closer to what you want. (This is why my term for the subconscious mind is "habit factory.")
