Make Your Own. For many beverage aficionados [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], making wine or beer at home is the essence of enjoyment. Invest in a kit, and let education steer you towards your goal.
These steps and tricks can help on many levels, from helping you reduce your caloric intake to helping you save next time you’re out to eat. Whether you’re a 20-something or a senior citizen, moderate alcohol has its benefits.
The review showed that moderate drinkers over 60 were at a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. The studies found that men and women who abstained from alcohol completely were 45 and 27 percent more at risk, respectively. In addition, light drinking was connected to increased HDL cholesterol, or what has come to be called “good” cholesterol in recent years. Learn from the Tasters. Take small sips [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and savor the flavors of the beverage you are enjoying. See how long you can make a glass of wine last, and increase the pleasure you get from it by drinking it as if you were on a sprawling vineyard.
Start soft.Beginning your dinner or night out with a sprite or soda water with lemon will help fill you up and satisfy your thirst before you reach for the pint glass.
Enjoy Days Off. Set aside one or two days per week during which you will not drink anything alcoholic. Reward yourself by trying a new juice, smoothie, or coffee drink.
As St. Augustine once said, “total abstinence is easier than perfect moderation.” By all means, if a person struggles with addiction or simply dislikes alcohol, no amount of scientific data should, or will convince them to drink. But for those who do enjoy alcohol, but sometimes struggle with keeping it to a minimum, here’s a collection of simple steps and tricks to help keep your cocktail hour to a moderate length.
Drink BetterBy spending a little more on the alcohol you consume, you will naturally want to make it last longer. Try upgrading your gin, vodka, or beer to a premium grade, and sit back and savor.
