FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons quarterback [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was pretty sharp during the Tuesday morning practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was particularly effective in the redzone period.
“I think as a team, we are definitely getting better,” [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. “Offensively and defensively, you can see that guys are starting to get the rhythm back. It’s good to see.”

[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]’s first drive ended with a punt and his second ended with a 40-yard touchdown run by Michael Turner. The Falcons lost that game 27-26 to Detroit.
The starting offense wants to have a crisp outing against the Chiefs.
“I think offensively, we’ve been doing a good job,” [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. “We’ve been getting better. We’ve been working on some things, some areas where we feel like we need a lot of improvement.
“I think we have been getting better. You are going to have some mistakes in camp for sure, but you’ve got to try to figure out what you can and can’t do. I think we’ve been doing a really good job of that.”
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]was asked what three things he hopes to improve on this season.
1. “First and foremost it is always your fitness, getting your conditioning to where you need to be for the entire year.
2. “As far as throwing and decision making, throwing routes that go from right to left a little bit better than I did last year. . . . really with my footwork
3. “And decision making. I think it’s about making good decisions on first and second down. Being better on first and second down.
“Those are kind of target areas that I’ve looked at and worked on this offseason and I feel like I’ve gotten better at.”
The footwork was an issue because he had to throw off a bad turf toe late last season.
“I wasn’t running around a ton at the end of the year with the toe,” [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. “I think anytime you have a foot injury you have to go back to basics and really make sure that you are really on top of your footwork. You have to make sure that your feet are in the right spots.”
