Acting is effortless, being real is not.
I grew up in the south in the 1960's. Married when I was 18 and joined the Army while I was 23. I traveled to Germany then back to the states where I lived in Connecticut for a meantime and then Tennessee for 10 years. I am now alive in Maine.
Of always the traveling I have done in my life I have listened people asking 1 question constantly. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not. We all absence to understand "What is the meaning of life?" I myself have inquired that question a thousand times.
Socrates and Plato and a thousand additional deep thinkers down through history have tried to define or annotate the meaning of life. Each with his own knowledge and understanding and most times with a quite complicated explanation.
It was no until I took up hiking in the mountains of Tennessee that I had abundance of time to muse the complexities of this old antique question. Being a Christian I was raised to believe definite things and to see at life in definite ways. But for I got older and began studying and questing for myself I began to accomplish that what I was taught as a baby was no as complex as some would have had me believe.
I forever wondered why God would have put us here simply to undergo through this life. After all he does love us and of that I have no doubt. So why then? Then one day while hiking the Appalachian Trail in Tennessee I came to a clearing overlooking a ravine. It was a clear daytime with the sun lustrous sunny. It is in our ecology I assume or at least the nature of the flesh. But God's nature is to be the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. And since we are to aspire to be more "God-like", which I accustom to meditation averaged to try to be faultless, then the signification of life is naught more than to "JUST BE YOU!"
