When a word is misspelled, it will underline it with a red squiggly line. Then you can right-click on the word and it will offer some correctly-spelled words to replace it with. You can even add words to your dictionary (like 'textarea', which comes up as a misspelling).
The title pretty much says it all. Firefox has a built-in spell check now that will underlength misspelled words in any textarea. No additional extensions required! The spell check can be a little irritating when you're using some HTML in your code, befactor it doesn't recognize most of the tags as real words. But, it's a small price to pay for a chronically baneful evil speller.
