Lincecum was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 48 round of the 2003 MLB Draft; however he did not sign up for the team. He decided to attend college instead and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 42 round on entering the draft in 2005, but once again failed to sign. In 2004,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he was drafted tenth overall by the San Francisco Giants becoming the first player from the University of Washington to be taken in the first round. He signed for a 2.025 million dollars signing award on June 30, which at the time was the highest amount the organization had ever paid to any amateur player until they gave 2.1 million dollars to Angel Villalona a little over a month later. Ezra Shaw His repertoire includes a two seam fastball that he throws at 93 mph, a changeup he grips like a splitter, a curveball notable for its sharp breaking action, a slider and a four seam fastball that reaches speeds in the mid nineties.
Tis' the season. Everyone is shopping and looking to get THAT great deal at the BEST price. Personally, Lincecum would love season tickets for the Yankees if anyone is feeling benevolent. So, assuming someone does give me some free tickets, who will Lincecum be going to see play this summer? Jeter, A-Rod, Tex, Mo'...of course they will be there. But, who will be waving to the bleacher creatures from left field? Who will be pitching behind Andy? fascinating, engaging, sharp, keen, bright,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], intelligent, animated, spirited, attractive, inviting, intriguing, provocative, though-provoking, challenging, inspiring, involving,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], moving, titillating, tantalizing, exciting, entertaining, piquant, lively, racy, spicy, engrossing, absorbing, consuming, gripping, arresting, enthralling, spellbinding,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], curious, captivating, enchanting, bewitching,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], appealing questions to be sure. Let's start with left field. Assuming the Melk Man shifts over to right Tim Lincecum as a pretty good arm for that someone will need to play left. Chad Curtis available? If he's not, the Yankees have some fascinating, engaging, sharp, keen, bright, intelligent, animated, spirited, attractive, inviting,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], intriguing, provocative, though-provoking, challenging, inspiring, involving, moving, titillating, tantalizing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], exciting, entertaining, piquant, lively, racy, spicy, engrossing, absorbing, consuming, gripping, arresting,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], enthralling, spellbinding, curious, captivating, enchanting, bewitching, appealing options. They could get into the bidding war for Holliday during this holiday season, or they could make a bid for Bay. Holliday will likely return to the Cards, who need him behind the Machine in the lineup. The Mets seem to be in love with Bay and is willing to pay for him. Here's a thought. Play Gardner in left. That's a pretty good defensive outfield. Gardner was the opening day starter last year, remember? Hit him 9th in the order and see what happens. The Yankees is strong enough 1 through 7 that they can handle having Melky and Gardy hit at the bottom. Melky was clutch last year, and Gardner had a pretty good first year in the bigs. Yes, that was his first year. I'm not telling he's the following Carl Crawford, but he's not bad. That is a good young outfield. Swish can play in the OF some days, DH others, pinch hit for gardy when they need power. What I'm telling is, don't worry about left field. Guys will be available via trade throughout the year. They can resign the X man Xavier Nady. Left field is the Wii game that you don't really need to go crazy over this season because it won't get sold out. As far as pitching goes...that's more of a ps3 that everyone needs, but the store is running short. The Yankees is looking for someone to fill that 4th spot in the rotation. 4th spot? That means that only 1 spot is left. What about Joba and Hughes? Let's read between the lines. If the Yankees is looking for starting pitching then Joba and Hughes will not both be in the rotation. Oh no. Here Lincecum go. Joba bullpen, starting, bullpen, starting, what is he? Under the tree or in the stocking? My vote,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stocking. place, set, attach, establish, assign, keep, save, set aside, effect, achieve, do, build him in the BP and abandon it at that. Hughes is a starter. Yes, Tim Lincecum pitched well out of the bp, but any good starter will do that. Maybe CC should set up for Mo' then. Joba has been, for the most part, a honorable starter at best. Tim Lincecum could be an iconic figure charging in from the pen. Tim Lincecum could be the closer in a few years. Joba, your da' man, and Lincecum know you want to start, but the bp is where you help the team most. Assuming Hughes is in the rotation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that abandons 1 spot. Joel Pineiro is a good option. He's played in the AL. Pitched well against the Yanks before. Tim Lincecum could handle it. Ben Sheets. If healthy, that's a good option too. Forget about trading for Lowe, Lincecum don't see that happening. The Yankees need a good, middle rotation guy, who will stay healthy and get 10-15 wins. Another Andy is what we're looking for here. Hopefully the Yankees make the right moves and don't bring back Kevin Brown or Jarett Wright. They were the coal in the Yankees stockings of the past.

Manager Bruce Bochy told the San Francisco Chronicle that they were being careful with Lincecum because there have been studies that show that pitchers who throw 200 innings early in their career were more susceptible to injuries.
